Dernau, Verbandsgemeinde Altenahr, Landkreis Ahrweiler, Rheinland Pfalz

Bereits 1923 wurde auf dem Platz des abgebrochenen Spritzenhauses ein Denkmal errichtet. Seit 1967 steht ein neues Denkmal für die Gefallenen beider Weltkriege neben der Pfarrkirche. Neben dem eigentlichen Denkmal stehen an dem Weg zu ihm fünf Bruchsteinmauerstücke, in die fünf Steinplatten mit den nach Todesjahren gegliederten Namen der Gefallenen eingelassen sind. Auf Platte 4 unten rechts ein Kreuz, ab hier wohl die Vermissten. Das eigentliche Denkmal besteht aus einem Basaltlava-Block, seinen oberen Abschluss bildet das Haupt von Jesus, seine Hände schützend ausgebreitet. Darunter an beiden Rändern zwei stehende Soldaten, von denen der rechte die Hände zum Gebet erhoben hat. Zwischen ihnen ein Weinstock mit Trauben wie es sich für ein Weindorf gehört. Die Anlage steht auf einem Bruchsteinsockel.
